Multi-room
Multi Room Audio is having music/audio in multiple rooms around your house or property. Multi room audio system's usually have either in wall Keypad or touch panels or remote controls to enable you to control having different music or audio in different rooms.
Multi Room Audio is also designed to enable you to control what is playing in a room from that location. Most basic systems are installed with a set of speakers in each room and a multi room audio keypad to enable you to control the system from that location. If a multi room audio system is fully integrated into an installation it can even be controlled wirelessly by remote control.
Multi Room Video is like multi room audio, but it is distributing video such as dvd, sky, tv around multiple rooms around your house or property. Multi room video systems can either work with keypads or touch panels in different rooms to control the system or as most people prefer work using remote controls so that the system can be controlled from anywhere in the room (i.e. the sofa!).
Changing channel on a satellite receiver, pausing a TV program or skipping a chapter on a DVD or Blu-ray movie is all possible from any room connected to a multi room video system. Commonly the main lounge or cinema room will have access to DVD, Blu-ray, satellite and a digital media server; these can be made available throughout the property in full high definition via the use of a properly installed Multi Room Video solution. In short you can finish watching the latest Hollywood blockbuster from the master bedroom, catch up on the news while you're in the shower or check what the children are watching from the kitchen.
